Ready for Windows Vista™

GeoFrameworks has a solid track record of delivering components which support a wide variety of operating system platforms, now including Windows Vista! Windows Vista introduces new technologies such as Windows PResentation Foundation (WPF), which simplifies graphics applications, including applications which support DirectX and accelerated graphics hardware. All GeoFrameworks components have been certified to work with Windows Vista operating systems with no code changes required in your source code.

Mapping With Windows Vista

GIS.NET version 3.0, which is now available for desktops and mobile devices, utilizes highly-optimized rendering techniques to deliver GIS applications which are always responsive. With Vista features such as SuperFetch, geospatial files can load extremely quickly, with load speeds of over 600,000 points per second (Intel Dual-Core 2.4GHz processor, 4GB of RAM). Panning operations for GIS 3.0 maps are also noticably faster on Vista machines, especially 64-bit editions of Windows Vista.

GIS.NET 3.0 will also be taking advantage of the new Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) platform, Microsoft's replacement for the antiquated GDI and GDI+ graphics subsystems. WPF will allow for highly-complicated maps while also utilizing DirectX and 3D graphics accelerator hardware.

Real-Time Location-Based Services for Windows Vista

GPS.NET 2.0 is already the world's most preferred GPS component for its rich architecture, solid reliability, and sharp-looking user controls. Version 2.4 of GPS.NET has been tested thoroughly on Windows Vista and delivers the same solid performance with no code changes. GPS.NET handles all GPS communication tasks such as GPS Device Detection, Connection Recovery and Precision Control, so you can focus your time on putting GPS to work instead of getting GPS to work. GPS.NET User Controls use a 100% managed-code smoked glass look which integrates seamlessly with the new Windows Aero™ desktop.
