What We Do

GeoFrameworks' primary focus is on software components that utilize the Global Positioning System. There is a large demand for location-based services, yet with hundreds of GPS devices on the market, software developers are faced with the enormous challenge of making their software work with any device. Even with standards such as NMEA-0183, each GPS device has its own discrepancies. GeoFrameworks flagship product, "GPS.NET," solves these problems by automatically detecting discrepancies and resolving them quietly. GPS.NET unifies all GPS devices under a common framework, greatly simplifying the task of writing professional GPS software.

Originally known as StormSource Software, the company's name was changed in mid 2004 to better reflect our focus on building software for both the GIS and GPS industries. GPS.NET quickly advanced to become the #1 most popular GPS component thanks to its wide support for devices, as well as its intuitive architecture. Now, over fifty well-known international companies use our components to drive their own software.

Recent History

Concurrent with our name change in 2004 was the second release our GPS.NET component. We feel that this component is truly best-in-class, and will bring our customers' own GPS software to the next level. The launch of GeoFrameworks was reaffirmation of our commitment to the developer community to continually grow and improve our product offerings, and to maintain the highest possible level of customer service and support to which they have grown accustomed.

In Spring 2005 GeoFrameworks announced a brand new product line: GIS.NET - which adds mapping features to desktop, PocketPC and even Smartphone applications. Capitalizing on the already-popular multithreaded, double-buffered component architecture, GIS.NET delivers unmatched drawing speed for complicated maps of any place on Earth. While GIS.NET is in its first release, GeoFrameworks is quickly expanding the product to become an affordable mapping solution with the widest support for all Windows platforms.

GeoFrameworks is committed to continually expand and improve our products, and to offer other exciting new products in the future.

Our Vision and Mission

Tools for Empowering Earth: Our primary goal is to unify every GPS device under one common, easy-to-use software development platform. By making GPS software easy to write, yet stable and reliable enough for mission-critical use, GeoFrameworks is streamlining the GPS software development process. Our software empowers others to advance industries of all kinds using GPS technology.

Since our formation in 2003, our corporate philosophy has been one of engineering excellence. All too often, the pressure to earn revenue has traditionally forced software developers to forego quality for the sake of meeting a deadline. GeoFrameworks has been aware of this pitfall from the beginning, and we avoid it by taking as much time as necessary to get our software right the first time. Our development team stands firmly behind .NET Framework Design Guidelines, and routinely use tools such as FxCop to ensure that components are as intuitive and efficient as possible. GPS.NET stands as a role model for how components should be written.

Our solid architecture, strict methodology, and highest degree of quality assurance results in controls that are powerful, flexible, and built from the ground up for .NET -- not simply ported from some earlier technology. We plan on continually improving our current product set, and building on it -- with version upgrades and many new products currently in the works for future release.

We believe in being open and available to our customers, and listening to what they have to say. Our highest priority is the development of the products, features and fixes that are most important to our customer base.
